Essential Entity (EE)
Large organisation (>250 employees or >€50 M turnover) in a highly critical sector (Annex 1: energy, health, transport, banking…), or a vital digital infrastructure provider (DNS, etc.).
Important Entity (EI)
Medium-sized organisation (50 to 249 employees or €10 to €50 M turnover) in an Annex 1 or 2 sector, or a large organisation operating solely in an Annex 2 sector.
Critical Contractor to the State
Strategic supplier or contractor of a central public administration or ministry (Defence, Interior, Justice, Health), regardless of your size.
Public Administration
Ministry, region, department, metropolitan area, or local authority exceeding the size thresholds set by ANSSI.
Cross-Border Regime (EU)
Cloud (SaaS/PaaS/IaaS), data centre, CDN, MSP/MSSP, domain name registry, search engine, social network or marketplace — regardless of your size.
Out of NIS 2 scope
Small organisation, or activity sector not covered by Annexes 1 and 2 of the directive — you are not directly subject to NIS 2.
